We carefully refreshed a pair of two bathrooms: one upstairs with a bathtub and one on the main level with a walk-in shower.

UPSTAIRS

This upstairs was considered originally as a future investment largely for resale. However, through the design process the homeowners fell in love with the selections and layout and became “tub people” due to the generous tub provided to fit the space.

The selections are all vibrant brushed nickel with an rye oak vanity and oak plated sconce.

MAIN LEVEL

This bathroom has been designed with aging in place and clean-ability in mind.

The selections allow for easy maintenance of space and selves. The original dim bathroom with a climb-in tub to a bright has been envisioned as an airy, walk-in, curbless shower and washroom.

The rainshower, handshower, faucet, and associated controls are all finished in vibrant brushed nickel. The custom vanity is constructed of rift-sawn oak veneer fabricated by James LaChance paired with a wall-mount sink and a mirror clad in matching brushed nickel finish. The toilet features a washlet. The oak towel bars and toilet paper holders match the solid-core door and cabinetry.

The dimple sconce is frosted mimicking the tall frosted window. This new window reused the framing width of the existing window unit but is topped with a clear, operable transom above. The in-shower window has a solid surface stone sill for moisture management and doubles as a ledge for shampoo, body wash, etc. The floor tile and integrated drain cover have texture and grit for safety in the age-in place condition.
