Simple in form but rich in function, the Portal is the second phase of the Seward Scoop. The structure is a reimagination of an ailing garage as a combination workshop and carport. Lovingly called the “portal” or “car-portal”, this custom garage frames this family’s backyard and rear addition, provides untempered woodshop and bike storage, and a covered area equally adept at protecting cars as it is at hosting patio chairs in the rain or movie projector nights in the yard.

The portal replicates the siding profile of the Scoop and leaves trusses and treated lumber raw and exposed to weather with time.
